UNM General Education Curriculum
The General Education Curriculum is a combination of eight different areas that are designed to create a foundation of knowledge shared by all UNM degrees.
Area I: Communication (6 credit hours)
Area II: Mathematics and Statistics (3 credit hours)
Area III: Physical and Natural Sciences (4 credit hours)
Area IV: Social and Behavioral Sciences (3 credit hours)
Area V-A: Humanities (3 credit hours)
Area V-B: Second Language (3 credit hours)
Area VI: Arts and Design (3 credit hours)
Area VII: Student Choice (6 credit hours)
