Practica

The Community Health Practicum, taken in the summer between the second and third year in the program, are designed to engage students in experiential learning projects involved in community and clinical health.

Practicum students will put into practice problem-solving skills and information acquired in other parts of the HMHV curriculum. Each practicum has the following components:

    • Writing
    • Research
    • Experiential

Community Health Practica (6 hours)

HMHV 350:  Community Health Practicum I  (3)
Experiential learning preceptorship conducted in rural or underserved healthcare settings. Emphasis upon the roles of health professionals and teams, community health issues, and health care practices, processes and systems.

HMHV 450:  Community Health Practicum II  (3)
Experiential and research preceptorship conducted in rural or underserved healthcare settings.  Emphasis upon the roles of health professionals and teams, community health and health care practices, processes and systems.
